Glossy shoe in ink

Now this is where it all started coming together - black felt tips and silver gel pens. Although the camera flash makes the bottom buckle look white, you get the idea of what the object really looks like, and an impression of the texture much better. I'm going to do another photo of this one later so you can see better.

Glossy shoe pencil sketch

This is the picture I used the guide for. It's awful! It looks almost blurred - the edges aren't even defined enough for you to see the straps! My older drawing of the ribbon shoes looks really similar to how this one is coloured in. This is a good exercise in learning about drawing textures - you'd think it was a black (or maybe grey...) and white shoe - there's no way you could see it in glossy black!

Glossy shoe line drawing

This is the first of three drawings (these pictures are more recent than the previous two I posted) of this shoe, which I got in a sale and hardly ever wore, so they look very new in the ink drawing - I started off this line drawing with the intention this would be a finished pencil drawing. But I quite liked it as it was, and decided to use it as a plan for colouring another sketch before I finished it. It's not too bad.

Old shoes with ribbons

This is a drawing (again very faint) that I did around the same time. These are my own shoes, and although you can't tell, the ribbons are actually red! The angle of the arch the ribbons wrap around is way out on the left shoe as well, and the colouring is very sketchy. Oh, and the highlights aren't great either. Not too proud of this one, as you can tell.

Old shoe

This was a shoe (my mum's) I drew at the beginning of last year. At the time, I was very happy with it, but looking back at it now after a long time, I can see how faint it is. At the time, I was worried about being too bold with coloured pencils - they were harder to erase so if I made a mistake, it could be fatal. I've improved on it a lot since, and it was the start of a shoe drawing trend - the pictures I ended up with I'm very proud of, so I've decided to start off with my shoe series.
