Lying Pose

Here's an accompanying lying pose - I think the foreshortening is pretty good, but the hands are bad! There's something missing that I couldn't see. When I was drawing it, I could tell that the drawing wasn't right, but the reality for once wasn't very helpful!

Standing Pose

Here's a standing pose - I thought I'd better do one, because although I do lots of longer poses at my drawing class, and fairly long standing ones, I wanted one with real detail. This one is... ok. The face has an unfortunate air of sarcasm about it, and the pose only adds to that, but overall, it's alright. The shadow is a little sketchy, and the hair rather messy, but I did have to have breaks every now and then (wimp!).

Pencil Face with Charcoal Hair

Getting better! I think this one is the best of the lot for realism. The shadows being darker in some areas really helps with the shape of the features.

Shaded Ink Face

Trying to show the areas of shading better by using ink here. Whereas in the last drawing I thought my face looked too slim, this looks much too wide. I haven't got the hang of the foreshortening of the cheeks yet.

Sad Shaded Face

I tried to put them all together in this drawing - I think I failed - although saying that, maybe I was looking that tired and sulky when I was doing it... I think I might have lengthened my nose as well as not done too good a job shading.

Three pairs of ears

A collection from around the house at different angles. Bit of an awkward experience, drawing other peoples' ears. A pretty good result though.

Six Pencil Mouths

These are ok, although not as good as the eyes. I think I need to work on making the lips look more rounded. Oh, and I left that diagonal line in on the left side of all of them because I've got a little scar there that casts a bit of a shadow. More interesting that way, I thought.
